Kim Kardashian claims she's not a bad mother. She is being called out on social media for not focusing on her newborn daughter.
For a first-time mother, Kardashian, 33, is certainly getting a lot of flak from Twitter users about being a poor parent. Kardashian made a point of responding to Twitter user jlmcbryde who blasted her for not spending enough time with her five-month-old daughter, North (also called 'Nori' by her parents).
Kardashian's response?
'@jlmcbryde u sound so ignorant. Bc I don't tweet or instagram my every move w my daughter means I am not with her 247? We share what we want. Or is it bc I go support my fiance at every show & I post pix? When the baby goes down 4 bed or a nap, parents are allowed 2 work & support each other, maybe even have fun too'
Kardashian may have a point. Although she and fiancé Kanye West appear to be hounded night and day by the paparazzi, this doesn't necessarily mean she doesn't spend a lot of time with Nori. Being a first-time mother, it's very possible that, like so many other mothers in the working world, Kardashian is trying to find that work-life balance. Whether she succeeds or not is something only she and her family have to worry about. It's a life-long endeavor finding that sort of balance so if Kardashian's fans are supportive, they'll appreciate any photos they do get to see of baby Nori.
Recall that Kanye West, 36, reportedly said he did not want Nori to be photographed all over the place. This might be why the public does not see any photos of the baby posing for the paps. Out of the two, West is the private one, and likely the most level-headed compared with Kardashian, who, it seems, enjoys living her life in front of the camera. How the couple will reconcile their public and private lives will be an interesting situation to watch. Enjoying being in the public eye doesn't necessarily mean Kardashian is a bad mother.
Kardashian is currently traveling with West while he's on his Yeezus tour. They have taken some selfies of just the two of them, which might've instigated the rumblings of complaints from critics. Although, Kardashian did tweet about baby Nori going swimming for the first time, which Kardashian expressed glee about: 'She loved it so much! #BestDayEver.'
Some of the complaints may stem from Kardashian reportedly attending West's concerts every night. But why is this a problem? His concerts are late at night, when Nori may or may not be asleep. Don't wealthy people have nannies and maybe family members who can baby sit? This is, after all, a perk of being wealthy.
From perusing her locked Twitter page, jlmcbryde's bio indicates she is also a mother: 'Proud mummy, kids come first!' Alas, this is not the case with every mother. As Kardashian's role as a mother is none of jlmcbryde's business, she's better off saving her breath and venting her frustrations out on someone else although I have to commend jlmcbryde for getting a rise out of Kardashian, especially when Kardashian has over 18 million followers. The Twitter user's criticism obviously struck a nerve with Kardashian, who claims she is not a bad mother.
