A light went out in the world Dec. 5 when Nelson Mandela, 95, took his last breath. Many celebrities - from South African actress Charlize Theron to - chose Twitter and Instagram as outlets to share their feelings on Mandela with the world. Kim Kardashian also posted a poignant photo of Mandela with lovely and moving words, and Kris Jenner followed suit shortly after.
Kim Kardashian Calls Nelson Mandela A 'Guiding Light'
After hearing of Mandela's passing, Kim Instagrammed a black and white photo of the former South African president and anti-apartheid revolutionary with the caption, 'R.I.P. Nelson Mandela...may your principles of love be the guiding light for future generations.' She also shared this Insta on Twitter so the message went out to her almost 19 million followers.
We applaud Kim, who is one of today's major pop culture icons, for acknowledging Mandela's greatness and inspiration publicly. It is a wonderful way for some of her younger fans to garner interest and understanding into someone they may not know as much about, someone who is inarguably one of the greatest men who's ever lived.

Kris Jenner Tweets Her Condolences On Nelson Mandela
A few hours after Kim's tweet, her mom followed her lead, Instagramming the same photo as her daughter did, with an inspiring Mandela quote as the caption: ''Do not judge me by my successes, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again.' - Nelson Mandela. #rip'
This is so meaningful as we have watched the Kardashians fall many times on KUWTK, so getting a reminder from them on the importance of 'getting back up' via Mandela's powerful and brilliant words is very moving.
R.I.P., Nelson Mandela. May we all take your example and strive to live with even half of the integrity that you did.
