He may claim to be a god but even immortals have their weaknesses - and Kanye West's is big cone of ice cream.

While normally the 36-year-old touts himself as a connoisseur of all things cultured, it seems the rapper is also a connoisseur of all things butterscotch.

On Thursday, The Bound 2 star surprisingly treated himself to a childhood favourite, a waffle cone, in West Hollywood, California.

Giving the staff at Baskin-Robbins the shock of their lives, Kanye strolled into the store with designer Tracey Mills to survey their offerings.

Pacing up and down the counter before appearing to deeply think about what flavour to choose, Kim Kardashian's fiance looked at the ice cream in a way normally reserved by the star for clothes headed down a high fashion runway.

Finally settling on a flavour, Kanye took the large scoop back to his waiting Mercedes G Class so he could have his special ice cream moment all to himself.

While known for his less than cheerful demeanour, as Kanye took his first bite a whole new side of the rapper appeared.

Savouring the bite in his mouth, the new father looked blissfully happy, closing his eyes to focus in on the flavour and, almost cracked a smile.

All in all, Thursday was a great day for the Blood On The Leaves performer as not only did he get an ice cream, he also spent some of the day shopping at Chanel.

The day of cones and couture was no doubt a welcome break for the star who has been performing almost non-stop for his Yeezus tour.
