Fan Rick Guardino was hoisted above the crowd in his wheelchair and acknowledged by Kanye

Kanye West has made up for his faux pas after he appeared to salute a disabled fan while performing in his hometown of Chicago.

A new video has surfaced of the controversial rapper, who came under fire earlier this month after trying to get a fan to stand up before realising that they were disabled.

The Power rapper performed a surprise set in Chicago for the first AAHH! Fest Sunday at Union Park on Sunday, an event which was co-sponsored by Kanye's charity, Donda House.

Kanye, 37, appeared to reference the nasty incident when Rick Guardino was held up above the crowd during the epic benefit show.

In a video, Kanye can be seen giving a salute to Guardino before launching into a new track.

While performing at Sydney's Credit Union Arena in Australia earlier this month, Kanye halted his song Good Life so he could get everyone up on their feet, even sending his bodyguard Pascal Duvier to check that the people sitting down were actually disabled.

Kanye West performs live for fans at Qantas Credit Union Arena on September 12, 2014 in Sydney, Australia.

He can be heard saying: 'I can't do this song, I can't do this show until everybody stand up,' before adding that fans could get away with it if 'you got a handicap pass and you get special parking and s**t.'

Kanye West has attempted to defend himself after claims he stopped his Sydney concert because a person in a wheelchair wouldn't stand.

The rapper reportedly asked the whole crowd to stand and when two people didn't, he refused to carry on - despite one of them being in a wheelchair and the other having a prosthetic limb.

But rather than simply apologising, the rapper went on another lengthy rant at his concert in Brisbane on Sunday night, saying he's constantly victimised by the media, and at the end of the day: 'I'm a married, Christian man.'

We're confused too.

He began by saying: 'What I want you to do is I want you to run the video everyone's talkin' about where I so-called screamed at somebody and everything.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West fresh off a flight from Perth decided to check out the brand new Jamie Oliver restaurant in Adelaide. Kim was looking sleek in an all black attire while Kanye wore a red check shirt and jeans.

'I want you to run that, right, since this is such big media-press-news and everything that obviously they trying to demonize me for.'

He went on: 'I want to take this platform. If I didn't have this last concert, maybe I would've tweeted something or put out a statement with a publicist, but I can talk directly to you - my fans.'

We are pretty sure this isn't the first time he has used a concert to set things straight.

Kim Kardashian's hubby added: 'I'm a married, Christian man. So, if you take someone that can go from being a rock star across the globe and everything and make the decision to pick one woman and raise a family, anyone here that's married or that's in a relationship knows that there's enough things workin' against you.

'I'm not going to make one of them Ben Affleck statements and s***.'

He went on to say his music has inspired people all over the globe, and it is simply 'real artistry' - insisting someone's life doesn't happen in one story, it happens over a 'lifetime'.

He finished by saying: 'At my concerts, I make sure everybody has as good a time as possible. So all this demonizing me, it aint' goin' to work after a while. Pick a new target. Pick a new target.

'Because I'm not one of these dumba** artists that you're used to. You come at me, I'm going to take my platform and break this s*** down for real, intelligent people every night. And then, we'll get back to the music.'

The star called the whole incident 'bulls**t blown out of proportion'. Well, there you go.
