Kanye West and Jacques Herzog Talk Design With Hans Ulrich Obrist During Art ...

Share on :

For Surface Magazine's 'Design Dialogues' series, Kanye West and architect Jacques Herzog took to the stage to have a discussion about design, masculinity, and various other topics that grew out of the conversation organically. Hans Ulrich Obrist served as the moderator between the two men as they engaged in a very deep and quote-able exchange of ideas and experiences. Obviously we can't provide a complete transcript of the discussion since it is still underway, but here are some quotes from the Twitter and Instagram posts of those in attendance:

'If I like it, I like it. No one can tell me who I like or what I'm supposed to be.'- Kanye West 'Contrary to popular belief, I'm not in touch with my femininity.' - Kanye West 'When exactly is the moment when you feel at home with what you do? It's hard to tell.'- Jacques Herzog 'That's one of the things I found out with Yeezus, that I do have a voice.'- Kanye West 'I found my own language in the noise, from which we all want to scream out.'- Kanye West 'There is in our society a culture with no difference between disciplines.'- Jacques Herzog 'Architecture should respond to all the five senses.'- Jacques Herzog 'When I was in art school I would paint music because I could see it.'- Kanye West
