'Coinye': Kanye West Inventing His Own Currency?

Of course, it wouldn't be real unless it has its own Twitter account.

On December 31, @CoinyeWest tweeted to the world the birth of a new 'cryptocurrency' - capitalizing off the success of the virtual monetary unit Bitcoin, hip hop mogul Kanye West is getting into the game with his own tender.

'Like Dogecoin, the digital currency stamped with the glorious face of the Internet's favorite Shibu Inu, the soon to debut Coinye West is piggybacking off of the success of Bitcoin and creating its very own unregulated currency that they hope Kanye himself will get behind,' reports TIME Magazine's Jessica Roy.

'We plan on releasing a front end to the 'mining' programs called CoinyeMiner,' the currency's creators previewed. They predict that potential 'coinye' users will use the monetary units to purchase things like Kanye West concert tickets.
