may have had a right to come to Kim Kardashian's defense after an 18-year-old man allegedly threatened her life at a Beverly Hills, Calif. medical building. The only problem is, Kanye arrived to the scene after the man allegedly unloaded a slew of racial slurs on Kim, which means Yeezy's alleged punch was not thrown 'in the heat of the moment,' Mychal Wilson tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
Kanye West's Assault - Rapper May Face 'Additional Charges' After Attack
Kanye could be in hot water for his alleged assault on the teen, especially after his alleged attack on paparazzo Daniel Ramos at LAX in July, 2013. Los Angeles attorney Mychal Wilson tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY:
Kanye West may face additional charges for allegedly assaulting an 18 year old who called his fiancee Kim Kardashian derogatory names at a Beverly Hills chiropractor's office. If the 18 year old had intentionally created an apprehension of imminent or harmful offensive contact, then Kim Kardashian may have been able to defend herself with reasonable force. And, if present, Kanye West may have been able to assert self-defense through the self defense legal doctrine known as 'Defense of Others' or 'Defense of a Third Person.' However, current facts show that Kanye West arrived at the scene after the alleged assault on Kim Kardashian already occurred. While the 18 year old allegedly yelled derogatory names at Kanye while Kim was on the phone with him, Kanye West's physical contact on the 18 year old exceeded reasonable force and was not in the 'Heat of the moment.'
Mychal adds that the teen will likely hire attorney Gloria Allred, who also represents Kanye's alleged LAX victim, Daniel Ramos. Mychal continues:
So, there may not be any reasonable grounds for Kanye West to argue that 'his safety was in immediate danger' as he pled in the July 19, 2012 LAX paparazzo lawsuit or that he was defending and protecting Kim Kardashian. In that matter, Kanye West was charged with battery and attempted grand theft in the July clash with paparazzo Daniel Ramos. So, Kanye already faces up to a maximum six (6) months in jail for each charge of battery and attempted grand theft for a total maximum of one (1) year in jail. Notwithstanding any criminal charges, Kanye at the very least may face another civil suit. Presumably, that 18 year old will look to retain the legal services of famed attorney Gloria Allred who also represents victim July 19, 2013 LAX assault victim Daniel Ramos.
