We're used to seeing him shooting moody glances at the camera.

But while Kim Kardashian was praising him as 'the most amazing dad,' Kanye West was cutting it loose at a Paris nightclub.

The Yeezus rapper was caught dancing into the night on Thursday at the Been Trill party at Club 79 on Rue de la Montaigne.

Kanye, 36, was having a marvelous time as he grooved to the beat of the music - which included some of his own tunes - on the dance floor and the banquette.

Several party guests posted the interesting images on Instagram that show the rapper wearing a grey hoodie and jeans while bouncing up and down, singing and waving his arms emphatically.

At one point, Kanye is standing on the banquette with his back to the camera, moving slowly to the beat while punching his fists into the air.

Later, Kanye's bearded face is half-hidden by his hoodie with just his beard and wide happy smile showing as he grooves to the music.

The rap artist is shown flashing his pearly smile while dancing on the floor with friends and shaking his body as the rhythm gets faster.

Kanye might even have honoured Young Thug by rapping along to the eccentric Atlanta star's song Danny Glover.

The hooded rapper was seen smiling ear to ear while bobbing up and down and around to his own song Blood On The Leaves.

Kanye was in heaven, or so it seemed, he rapped his lyrics: 'We could've been somebody, thought you'd be different 'bout it, now I know you not it, so let's get on with it.'

And the same fan wrote, press release-style: 'Acknowledging the A-lister in their midst, the DJs made sure to play a few of West's hits, including 'Blood on the Leaves' and 'All of the Lights.'

'But he must not have partied too hard: West was up and at 'em by noon for BFF Riccardo Tisci's presentation of the Givenchy menswear show.'

Indeed, Kanye was seen heading to the Givenchy show in a big fur coat and grey hooded jumper, and looking none too pleased either.

Kanye is currently being investigated by police after allegedly pummelling an 18-year-old man with over 30 blows after he hurled homophobic and racial slurs at the rapper's fiancée Kim Kardashian in Beverly Hills on Monday.

Prosecutors are currently investigating the star, who pled no contest to attacking a photographer in 2008 and still has another battery case pending, for felony assault and battery connected to the incident on Monday.

Kim, meanwhile, praised her fiance as an attentive father to their seven-month-old daughter North during an interivew on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which aired Friday.

'He is honestly the most amazing dad,' Kim gushed. 'He loves her so much. He just left to go out of town, so I send him a picture and video every day. He's like, 'She grew up so much!' and I'm like, 'Babe, it's been one day. You haven't seen her in a day. Not a lot has changed.' But he really is a hands-on dad.'
