Handout
'Kim Kardashian: Hollywood' is so popular that even government officials are playing it.
The Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Water's Twitter account issued a surprising tweet Monday evening, referring to the reality star's popular app.
'I'm now a C-list celebrity in Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. Come join me and become famous too by playing on iPhone!' the message said.
The tweet received close to 3,000 retweets before being deleted, but that didn't stop Glu Games, the app's developer, from having a little fun at the EPA's expense.
'Keep at it @EPAwater, you'll get there. #AList #WillowPapeIsTheWorst #KimKardashianGame,' the company tweeted Monday night.

On Tuesday morning, the EPA tweeted about the Kardashian-related gaffe, and found a silver lining to its mistake.
'Whoops ... our bad. Sorry about tweet. Upside - more attention for the Office of Water (http://water.epa.gov ), thanks @KimKardashian,' said the tweet.
'Kim Kardashian: Hollywood' was co-created by the reality TV diva and is currently the most downloaded free game in Apple's U.S. App Store. It has become so popular that industry analysts predict that the app will bring in up to $200 million.
