Remember Coinye? The Kanye West-themed alternative cryptocurrency popped up in January, back when creating alternative cryptocurrencies was the thing to do, but fell into uncertainty when West's lawyers sent the anonymous creators a cease-and-desist order. Coinye's creators responded by accessorizing their logo of West's face with a fishtail.
Now it seems Coinye is over for good, after a six-month court battle that began when the rapper filed a trademark-infringement lawsuit in January.
NBC reports that lawyers for West filed 84 court documents involving 'a handful of named defendants,' most of whom didn't bother responding to the claims, which means they've lost by default. Three others, including Harry Wills and Richard McCord, have reached a settlement with West.

'The main reason I settled is because I get to have West's lawyer, a United States district judge and Kanye West's signature along with my signature on the legal document that removes me as a defendant, which I will print off and frame,' Wills, a 17-year-old U.K. high school student, told Ars Technica.
The mysterious Coinye operators, meanwhile, have remained largely silent on Twitter and other social platforms since February:
Hope I wont get sued for owning this twitter account lol :D ( Seriously, can I get sued? )

At least we'll always have FreiCoin and Kimcoin. Right?
