PHILADELPHIA - Forty-five minutes before Kanye West opened his Made In America headlining set with 'Black Skinhead,' electro house musician Steve Aoki amped up festival-goers with a fitting remix of The Chainsmokers' ' Kanye' song, which features the lyric, 'I want to be like Kanye, I'll be the king of me always.'
But to be like Kanye, one would need to always be ready to deliver a thought-provoking monologue at any given moment, just like the 37-year-old rapper did Saturday night.
Midway through 'Runaway,' an autotuned Kanye gave a rousing 5-minute speech that touched many subjects: what he perceived as hateful criticism from media, the vision he has of everyone loving each other, as well as his public relationship with wife Kim Kardashian.
Kanye also dropped some memorable lines between songs that spanned his entire collection of six studio albums, ranging from 2004's College Dropout to last year's Yeezus.
Here are five Kanye quotes from Sunday that are worth repeating:
1. On his marriage to Kim Kardashian
'For me to be [in] a very publicized interracial relationship is not a joke,' he said. 'It's something that should be treated with respect because we're all in this together.'

2. On his relationship with the media
'I've got love for everybody in the media and all the tabloids - I know everybody is doing their job,' he assured the audience. 'Before we go to the next song, I want people to realize what we do is we put our love, our heart, our pain, our struggle, our story, our lives in until 3 a.m. every night in the studio for this.'
3. On MTV spoofing him at the VMAs
'I called Jay Pharoah right after the MTV Video Music Awards and I said, 'You know, I appreciate your show ,but let me tell you about my story, let me tell you what I went through to get to that position,'' he recalled. 'I'm not making it a black or white thing right now, but I'm telling you if you see a black guy anywhere, he had to work 12 times as hard, excuse me. So we're not going to have any black comedians going up on stage spoofing the people who are working hard to open doors not only for black people, but for any creators - anybody who wants to add a contribution to the world - beauty, truth, creativity, positivity and just helping the next man out with love, with love, with love, with love, with love.'
4. On negative rumors in the tabloids
'This is a new generation,' he proclaimed. 'There are so many [more] people at this stage tonight dancing to this music than anybody who has ever wrote something negative, so don't believe none of that sh*t, and just believe that sh*t when we drop it - when Travis Scott drops his sh*t, when Big Sean drops his sh*t, when [Lil'] Wayne drops his sh*t, when Kendrick [Lamar] drops his sh*t, when Frank Ocean drops his sh*t.'
5. On Jay Z and Made in America
'I ain't going to go on too long tonight because the last thing I want to do is f*ck up the curfew ... for my big homie Jay Z, my brother,' Kanye said. 'So don't worry, Hov, with love, with love, with love, with love. So when y'all leave tonight, I want you to leave with love.'
