A spoof article has surfaced online, declaring that Kanye West scored 106 points in a basketball game against wheelchair users.
The fake news story, published by The Daily Currant, satirises the recent controversy surrounding West after he demanded wheelchair users stand up during a show earlier in September.
The article reads: 'A charity basketball game didn't go exactly as planned yesterday when Kanye West scored 106 points against a team of handicapped children in wheelchairs.
'The game was a PR move intended to smooth over the controversy that erupted this week between Kanye and the disabled community. At one of his concerts recently West repeatedly asked wheelchaired fans to stand, and refused to apologise for his mistake afterwards.'
Many believed the fake story - which was published on Wednesday (September 17) - to be true.
The embarrassing incident took place during a show in Sydney, Australia, as part of his Yeezus tour. Before realising that the fans were wheelchair users, the rapper said: 'I decided I can't do this song, I can't do the rest of the show until everybody stands up.'
