One Map Shows Exactly What Obamacare Has Done To The Country

The number of Americans without health insurance hit an all-time high in 2006. Nearly 44 million people (close to 17% of Americans) lacked even the most basic coverage, meaning they'd have to pay full price for any health treatment, from annual checkups to prescription medications.

Data from previous years showed the numbers were following a worrisome trend.

CDC/NCHS

By 2010, as the number of uninsured continued to rise (even while the percentage of Americans without insurance held steady), it was clear America had a problem.

In many states, the numbers were far more dismal. Across Nevada, Texas, and several other southern states, more than 22% of the population lacked health insurance. (These numbers vary slightly depending on the data used; the maps below use the Gallup-Healthways Well Being Index.)

Here's what 2010 looked like, in a visualization created by @MetricMaps:

MetricMaps

Today, more Americans have health insurance than ever before.

Since the Affordable Care Act went into effect, an additional 10 million people who would have previously had to pay full price for any health treatment can now afford an annual checkup, eye glasses, or birth control pills.

Courtesy @MetricMaps

Four million of them are young people between 19 and 25.

In states that embraced the ACA's planned expansion of Medicaid, the government health care program for the poor, the number of uninsured fell by nearly 40%.

A wide swath of Western states, including California, Nevada, and Washington saw the number of their residents with insurance climb sharply. Texas (which opted out of participating in the Medicaid expansion along with several other states, mostly in the South), is now the only state where more than 22% of the population lacks coverage.

In total, an estimated 3.6 million Americans who would have likely received Medicaid coverage under the new rules remain uninsured today because they live in states that opted out of the Medicaid expansion.

While the population of uninsured Americans seems to be shrinking, the Affordable Care Act itself is far from perfect. Dozens of glitches in the online system of enrollment likely prohibited hundreds from signing up - only six people actually managed to enroll in Obamacare the first day the system rolled out. The law also raised the cost of health insurance for some people who already had private coverage because it forced insurers to provide more benefits and to cover people with pre-existing conditions.

Regardless, the Affordable Care Act was created in part to increase the number of Americans with health insurance. And it's undoubtedly achieved that goal.

Here's the 2008-2014 action in all its GIF glory:

Kim Kardashian Hits the Gym After Waist Training Selfie

Get it, girl! Kim Kardashian isn't messing around when it comes to her figure these days. A day after admitting she's continuing to 'waist train,' the reality star worked up a sweat in a Barry's Bootcamp class in Los Angeles on Thursday, Oct. 30.

PHOTOS: Kim's post-baby body

Wearing her gym uniform of black leggings and a black zip-up, North West's mom looked trim as she made her way into the grueling workout class.

Just yesterday, the E! star, who has been vocal recently about wanting to shed pounds, shared a selfie of herself 'waist training' on Instagram.

PHOTOS: Kim loves crop tops!

'I'm really obsessed with waist training! Thank you @premadonna87 for my new waist shapers! #whatsawaist,' she captioned a mirror selfie of herself looking teeny tiny while wearing a blue waist shaper.

In case you missed it, the device is said to permanently change your shape and slim your waist if you wear the device for long periods of time.

Kim Kardashian Fighting With Kanye West: Divorce and Custody Battle Over ...

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West barely seem to acknowledge North West's existence, so imagine my surprise when the cover issue of In Touch Weekly claims that Kanye and Kim are fighting ( like they were fighting at the pumpkin patch) over North West's custody. According to the reports, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are divorcing [and trust me, that's happening, whether it's now or five years down the line], but the biggest point of contention in the divorce proceedings is North West's custody.

Apparently, Kim [and by extension, Kris Jenner] wants to turn North West into a reality star. Of course she does. And Kanye wants to raise North in Paris, away from her famewhoring mother's side of the family. Kanye probably imagines her as a little fashionista, and he and Riccardo Tisci can raise her together to rub it in Kim's face. And Kim - well, I honestly would NOT be surprised to see Kim using North for fame fifteen years down the line. In fact, I wouldn't even be surprised to see North launch her career the same way that Kim launched her own. I would hope that no mother would sell her own daughter's sex tape to launch a media empire, but hey, it worked for Kris Jenner, didn't it?

In Touch also has a new update on the Beyonce/Jay-Z situation, claiming that the two are still trying desperately to save their marriage. We called that divorce as imminent a long time ago, and we're sticking with that.

Then, Chris Martin apparently dumped Jennifer Lawrence because of pressure from Gwyneth Paltrow. Puh-lease. You think Chris would ditch his ticket to Hollywood popularity? No, it's Jennifer Lawrence who did the dumping, probably after seeing Gwyneth and Chris being cuddly and relationship-y.

Finally, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi haven't been having the best time dealing with their marriage after Portia's rehab stint, and In Touch's sources claim that their relationship is on the verge of imploding.

All in all, a regular week in Hollyweird.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian look like they are fighting before departing on a flight at LAX airport in Los Angeles, California on October 26, 2014. Look at the faces of these two and let us know if they are happy or not!

Kanye West Stops Paparazzi on the Street to Take a Photo of His Sweater

247PapsTV / Splash News

Sometimes you just can't resist a little street style inspiration, amirite?

Kanye West certainly couldn't help himself when he stopped his taxi mid-drive in order to take a picture of a sweater that he admired. The only catch? The person wearing it was a photographer actually trying to snap a picture of the rapper. Oh, how the tables have turned!

West captured the sweater from his iPhone, while several people on the street began taking pics of West-the whole was very meta, really.

PHOTOS: Kim Kardashian's mommy style

The sweater in question is made by D9 Reserve, and had a space-theme featured with numerous patches adorned on the front and back sides.

After taking several photos-presumably for inspiration for his upcoming fashion projects, or, you know, for his Christmas wish list to Kim Kardashian -the two shook hands and went their separate ways.

And it looks like North West's papa was in good spirits for the rest of the day in the Big Apple.

He was seen posing in photos with several fans on the street after his shopping trip to Jeffrey's and even smiling and chatting with photographers.

Happy life, happy Yeezy!

Maker of hit Kardashian app can't keep up with Wall Street's sales estimates

Glu Mobile, the mobile gaming company behind the hit Kim Kardashian: Hollywood app, saw its share price fall more than 16% in after-hours trading as the company had trouble keeping up with Wall Street's expectations despite a 270% increase in third-quarter sales. Here are some of the key points of Glu Mobile's Wednesday third-quarter earnings report.

What you need to know: The game-maker reported third-quarter revenue of $83.6 million, up from $22.6 million during the same quarter last year and also an improvement on the $35 million in sales Glu Mobile posted in the second quarter. Though it was the company's strongest quarter ever, the sales numbers fell below estimates by analysts who were expecting Glu Mobile to crack $85 million in revenue.

The company did manage to beat analysts' earnings estimates, however, reporting profits of $17.5 million, or 17 cents a share, for the quarter.

Glu Mobile CEO Niccolo de Masi attributed the company's record quarter to the popularity of Kim Kardashian: Hollywood as well as some of the company's other gaming titles, such as Deer Hunter 2014 and Dino Hunter: Deadly Shores. The Kardashian game is free to download to smartphones and tablets, but users create their own avatars and then spend money dressing and styling them with virtual clothing and accessories. The goal of the game is to steer your avatar's climb to fame by emulating the Kardashian lifestyle - including hanging out with celebrities, traveling to exotic virtual locales, and even planning a virtual wedding.

The big number: San Francisco-based Glu Mobile's stock plunged more than 16% in after-hours trading partly because of the slightly disappointing sales numbers. But, investors were also discouraged by the company's fourth-quarter outlook, which also came in below Wall Street's forecasts. Analysts were expecting more than the $60 million to $65 million range for Glu Mobile's sales outlook in the current quarter.

What you might have missed: Glu Mobile is doubling down on its partnership with Kim Kardashian, announcing in its earnings release that it has extended its license agreement with the reality television star for an additional three years. The pairing has been profitable for both sides as Bloomberg has estimated that the game could make up to $200 million annually from ads and in-game purchases, with Kardashian getting a healthy cut. At a Re/code event this week, Kardashian said that more games featuring her are in the works.

Mr. West was catching a cab Wednesday in New York when one of the photogs caught Kanye's eye ... his fashion eye.Kanye put his trip on pause and snapped a few pics of the sweatshirt. But maybe the most puzzling thing ... why is Kanye taking a Yellow Cab?

Lauren Conrad Or Kim Kardashian: Who Did A Mermaid Costume Better?

Lauren Conrad and Kim Kardashian are two names not often mentioned in the same sentence, but aside from, you know, sharing their entire lives with the world on TV, LC and Kim have more in common than you might think-at least when it comes to Halloween.

The Queen of Halloween recently shared her DIY costume for this weekend and, after a close inspection, it looks a lot like something Kim wore two years ago. From the seashell bustier down to the gauzy fishtail, it seems like the Hills star and Kim have the same taste in trick-or-treat wear. Kim Kardashian "Likes" What Would Yeezus Wear? Instagram—Exclusive Details!

Big news, guys: We have a new favorite Instagram (Sorry, Toast Meets World, you've been temporarily replaced.)

Our fave account to double tap, What Would Yeezus Wear, comes from the genius minds of the San Francisco-based duo Kathleen Lee and Katie Burroughs. Two very stylish gals who love Kim Kardashian and so much that they've been spending their free-time recreating all of the famous couple's outfits.

Yes, the pair (who've nicknamed themselves 'Katye') replicates Kimye's street style in mirror-image snapshots-facial expressions and all. Just yesterday the twosome uploaded a post wearing nearly identical all-black ensembles to mimic a combo worn by the celebs back in November of last year.

PHOTOS: Kim's mommy style

Admit it: This idea is beyond kinda cool-it's straight up awesome! So awesome in fact that even Kim approves. According to Kathleen, Mrs. West has even liked one of their posts.

'Kim liked the ice cream cone pic, but on my Instagram. At first I was like: 'Wait, did I just see that notification?' I assumed it was a fake account, but then all of a sudden my phone blew up with likes from all of her followers,' she tells E! News exclusively.

'Eventually I was able to scroll through and see it was, in fact, her real account. I was shaking. I told my office, where Katie and I both work, and everyone cheered. They are all big supporters or it wouldn't be possible for us to do it so often. It was very surreal.'

PHOTOS: Look back at Kimye's wedding album

For the record, that post is also Lee's favorite. Katie went with another gem. 'I think the umbrella pic [is my favorite]. Kathleen's outfit in that-I can't stop laughing every time I look at it,' Burroughs told us.

And while the pair, of course, have a sense of humor about their project, the duo also genuinely love Kimye's style.

'They both always look sleek. He always looks effortless and cool, while she has a more high-level glamour look. Obviously some of their Paris Fashion Week looks are harder for us to pull off in the real world, but I think their street style is where they really inspire.'

PHOTOS: Coordinating couples

And by the way, the twosome manage to recreate Kimye's designer fashion with-what else-bargain buys! 'I'd say the majority is still our own clothes, but we have gone to less expensive stores like Forever21 and H&M, plus thrift stores for key pieces. I think it is really become part of the goal-inspiring those of us without a Balmain budget that you can have great style.'

Oh, and in case you're wondering, both gals always usually want to be Yeezus. 'It's always a battle for Kanye-no offense to Kim, but some of her outfits are hard to pull off without her amazing body. Usually it boils down to who already has the clothes for which outfit.'

Could the two be planning something extra special for Halloween (hint, Kimye wedding, hint)? Guess we'll have to check back and see on Friday!

California's Proposition 45 Would Offer Public a Say on Health Insurance Rate ...

LOS ANGELES - A year after the federal Affordable Care Act took effect, California voters are now considering another major change to health care: a ballot measure that would give state officials the authority to veto health insurance rate increases for individual and small group plans.

Proposition 45 would hand broad new control of the individual health insurance market to the state insurance commissioner, who could reject rate increases deemed excessive. The measure is designed to keep costs down for consumers in a state where health care premiums have spiked in recent years, raising public ire.

But that was before the Affordable Care Act. Now, Covered California, the state's health care exchange, negotiates rates with insurers. And opponents of the ballot measure warned that it could undermine the early successes of Covered California, which enrolled more than 1 million people - more than any other state - in its first year.

With millions at stake for consumers and insurance companies, the campaign has become one of the most expensive in the state. Insurers in California - primarily Kaiser Permanente, WellPoint and Blue Shield of California - have poured more than $55 million into defeating the measure, more than 15 times what the supporters have raised.

Dave Jones, the insurance commissioner, who is running for re-election, said the huge sums that insurance companies had spent trying to discredit the measure and its supporters demonstrated the need for laws to stop them from raising rates at will.

'Even with the successful implementation of the Affordable Care Act, Californians are still facing double-digit rate hikes,' Mr. Jones, a Democrat, said. 'Right now, health insurance rates are set behind closed doors. The public has absolutely no say. This proposition is about allowing the public to participate.'

Most states require approval by state regulators for at least some health care rate increases, according to a study by the Kaiser Family Foundation.

But Proposition 45 would go further than other states: Even after the commissioner approved a rate increase, members of the public could sue to stop it.

The insurance companies, all three of which have refused to speak publicly about the measure, are hardly the only opponents. Health care reform advocates, including the Democrats who dominate state politics here, remain split. Even some longtime supporters of more robust health insurance regulation have balked, saying that additional regulations could confuse consumers or drive insurers from the marketplace.

Unlike with auto or property insurance, most consumers can sign up for new health coverage only during the annual open-enrollment period that begins in November.

George Miller, a Democratic congressman and a co-author of the Affordable Care Act, said he worried the proposed rate approval system could slow the process for determining the annual rate, leaving consumers in the dark during open enrollment. He suggested waiting to see whether Covered California's negotiations with insurers kept rates down.

'To put this considerable amount of turmoil in the open enrollment process worries me,' Mr. Miller said in a telephone interview.

Mr. Miller visited call centers after last year's start-up and listened to some of the conversations with potential Covered California customers. 'It didn't take much confusion before people would say, 'I'll call you back,' ' he said. 'My goal is to enroll every single possible person this time.'

Diana S. Dooley, a member of Covered California's board, said the exchange had been aggressively negotiating to keep premiums reasonable, which she worried might become more difficult if the commissioner could then reject rates. But she said the provision that would allow consumer groups and other interveners to sue over rates even after the commissioner had approved them was the most concerning part of the ballot measure.

'Someone who's a foe of the Affordable Care Act - and goodness knows we've seen a few of them over the last year - could go to court as a way to destabilize the program and delay approval of rates until after the open enrollment period,' Ms. Dooley said.

The measure's sponsor, a group called Consumer Watchdog, backed a similar and successful ballot proposal in 1988, which brought rate approval to auto, home and business insurance. After California adopted it, rate approval soon spread across the country in those industries, and the policy has helped keep rates down, said Jamie Court, the president of Consumer Watchdog. He said Proposition 45 had the potential to do the same.

'If really tough regulation passes in California, it will spread to other states, and we will start to see tougher oversight more generally,' Mr. Court said.

The Upshot The Affordable Care Act: Who Was Helped Most

We know that about 10 million more people have insurance coverage this year as a result of the Affordable Care Act. But until now it has been difficult to say much about who was getting that coverage - where they live, their age, their income and other such details.

Now a large set of data - from Enroll America, the group trying to sign up people for the program, and from the data firm Civis Analytics - is allowing a much clearer picture. The data shows that the law has done something rather unusual in the American economy this century: It has pushed back against inequality, essentially redistributing income - in the form of health insurance or insurance subsidies - to many of the groups that have fared poorly over the last few decades.

The biggest winners from the law include people between the ages of 18 and 34; blacks; Hispanics; and people who live in rural areas. The areas with the largest increases in the health insurance rate, for example, include rural Arkansas and Nevada; southern Texas; large swaths of New Mexico, Kentucky and West Virginia; and much of inland California and Oregon.

Each of these trends is going in the opposite direction of larger economic patterns. Young people have fared substantially worse in the job market than older people in recent years. Blacks and Hispanics have fared worse than whites and Asians. Rural areas have fallen further behind larger metropolitan areas.

Women are the one modest exception. They have benefited more from Obamacare than men, and they have received larger raises in recent years. But of course women still make considerably less money than men, so an economic benefit for women still pushes against inequality in many ways.

The Affordable Care Act was passed in 2010, but the law's biggest insurance expansion provisions went into effect in January, when millions more people qualified for state Medicaid programs, and new subsidized insurance plans sold in state marketplaces kicked in.

Over all, about 10 million Americans who had no insurance in 2013 signed up for it this year, according to the Enroll America/Civis model. The groups estimate that the national uninsured rate for adults under 65 fell to 11 percent from 16 percent. (Because of the federal Medicare program, which provides universal coverage to Americans over 65 who meet certain basic requirements, more than 98 percent of that group has health insurance.)

Other estimates, including those from Gallup and the health research group the Commonwealth Fund, show higher uninsured rates but a similar reduction in the number and percentage of Americans without insurance. Enroll's data analysts said their survey appears to have undercounted the uninsured a bit in both years, because they interviewed a smaller number of Hispanics, men and people with low incomes than the census measured. Those people are less likely to be insured, but were also harder for Enroll to reach because they have smaller digital footprints than other groups.

Below are several charts that help explain who was helped most by the passage of the Affordable Care Act.

That state boundaries are so prominent in the map attests to the power of state policy in shaping health insurance conditions. The most important factor in predicting whether an American who had no insurance in 2013 signed up this year was whether the state that person lives in expanded its Medicaid program in 2014.

In 2012, the Supreme Court gave states the right to opt out of the expansion. In all, 26 states and the District of Columbia expanded Medicaid programs this year, and at least one more state - Pennsylvania - will expand next year. Predominantly, the states that expanded had Democratic political leadership, while those that declined were governed by Republicans, but there were exceptions in both directions.

Consider the contrast between Kentucky, which expanded Medicaid, and Tennessee, which did not.

Blacks and Hispanics entered this year with higher uninsured rates than whites and Asians. That's still true, but they have also shown substantially larger gains. Matthew Saniie, the director of analytics and data at Enroll, said he attributed the racial trends to two main factors: existing high uninsured rates for those groups, and disproportionate poverty, meaning more people who qualify for Medicaid. In the case of Hispanics, he also said that California's huge outreach effort, strongly targeted at its Latino population, gave the group another strong enrollment boost.

Critics of the Affordable Care Act have often warned that the program would be unfair to the young because it limits the ability of insurance companies to charge higher rates to older customers, who tend to be sicker. But young adults show the largest reductions in being uninsured of any age group. And that's not counting the approximately 3 million young adults who received coverage on their parents' policies before 2014.

People with the lowest incomes tended to benefit the most from the law. That makes sense, given how the Affordable Care Act is designed. In states that expanded Medicaid, low-income people can get insurance without having to pay a premium. And for middle-income people who qualify for tax credits to help them buy insurance, the subsidies are most generous for those lowest on the income scale. Poorer people were always the least likely to have insurance because their jobs rarely offered it and private premiums were often unaffordable.

Women were more likely to have insurance before this year, a reflection of existing state Medicaid policies, which offered coverage to pregnant women and mothers, but not childless adults. But that existing gender gap is widening. Professionals doing insurance outreach said that women were often easier to reach and more concerned about access to health care than men.

Despite many Republican voters' disdain for the Affordable Care Act, parts of the country that lean the most heavily Republican (according to 2012 presidential election results) showed significantly more insurance gains than places where voters lean strongly Democratic. That partly reflects underlying rates of insurance. In liberal places, like Massachusetts and Hawaii, previous state policies had made insurance coverage much more widespread, leaving less room for improvement. But the correlation also reflects trends in wealth and poverty. Many of the poorest and most rural states in the country tend to favor Republican politicians. Of course, the fact that Republican areas showed disproportionate insurance gains does not mean that only Republicans signed up; there are many Democrats living in even the most strongly Republican regions of the country.

People who lived in rural areas were more likely to gain insurance than those living in big cities.

Over all, the changes tended to be strongest among the groups that were the least likely to be insured. The single most predictive question in the Enroll model for 2014 was whether someone was insured in 2013. That also means that the newly insured are not substantially different from the remaining uninsured in broad demographic terms. There are still a lot of uninsured people remaining, many in the places that had high uninsured rates last year.

Who remains uninsured in 2014

Enroll and Civis's data is the output of a statistical model based on a large survey of adults. That means that the numbers are estimates rather than actual observations. For now, Enroll's broad numbers line up with the findings of existing surveys. Next year, the census will be able to provide a similarly detailed picture of the uninsured in America, using less complex methods. Though Civis's background is in political campaign outreach, the groups have little incentive for bias because skewed numbers would complicate efforts to find the uninsured and target outreach resources. What Would Yeezus Wear? Two Friends Dress Like Kim Kardashian, Kanye ...

Most love stories start with a boy and a girl - this one starts with a boy and a denim shirt. When Kathleen Lee picked up a denim shirt, she immediately felt just like her fashion idol, . She told her friend and coworker Katie Burroughs that she wanted to pair her new top with jeans - the way she had seen the rapper do it in a paparazzi picture.

PHOTOS: Kimye's sweetest moments

'The day I wore the denim shirt we decided to take a pic to do side-by-side, and the pic we found of Kanye had Kim [Kardashian] in it, and Katie was wearing almost the exact same outfit so we took it together,' Lee recalls to Us Weekly. 'Both of us knew right then it was funny, and we should do another.'

This idea turned into the genius tumblr page #WWYW (What Would Yeezus Wear?), which features the two San Francisco-based pals posing as the famous pair, imitating Kimye's paparazzi shots for their photographer Katie Maaske Ives (@_kives). And though Kim Kardashian is typically the one making headlines for her style, both Lee and Burroughs tend to fight over who gets to play budding fashion designer Yeezus.

PHOTOS: Kim and Kanye, the perfect match

'It is always a battle for Kanye,' Lee admits. 'No offense to Kim, but some of her outfits are hard to pull off without her amazing body. We both admire Kanye as a style icon. He has really great taste and has absolutely influenced how Kim dresses, which she even attests to herself.'

The friends work for Waterfall, a mobile messaging platform based out of San Francisco - Lee as the lead designer and Burroughs as head of HR and Culture. Though they are big fans of the Kimye phenomenon, Lee and Burroughs think their blog will appeal to the multitudes of haters out there, too.

PHOTOS: Kanye's most outrageous moments

'As a couple they are iconic and even their haters can't help but be fascinated by them,' Lee continues. 'I think that's why they are so appealing for this project, the people like us who already like them enjoy it, and the haters enjoy it because they see it as mocking them. We let people think what they want.'

The pals have focused on Kim and Kanye, but have also dabbled in some other famed pairings. For 's 33rd birthday in September, they dressed as the pop diva and her hubby . And Lee happily hopped on her friend's lap to play the North West to Burrough's Kanye.

For the time being, the bloggers will remain focused on the Kardashian-West style playbook, but when asked if they'd be interested in copying other famous duos - we vote for Brangelina! - Lee replies, 'Never say never!'

So what does the future have in store for #WWYW? Any wedding looks or maternity wear if Kimmie announces her second pregnancy?

PHOTOS: Kim Kardashian's post-baby style

'We have a few things up our sleeves and few we like to call our 'mic drop' moments,' Lee says. 'We already have discussed doing some of her pregnancy looks, we think that would be so fun! I think the whole project is dependent on Keeping up with the Kardashian-Wests so bring it on! Everyone will have to stay tuned.'

Kim Kardashian's Wardrobe Malfunction: Flashes SPANX

The reality darling showed off way more than she bargained for when she stepped out for date night with her hubby, ditching the typical game-day style and instead turning up the heat as she sat courtside in a clinging skirt that featured a high slit that put her shapewear on full display! Oh no!

There's two things Kim Kardashian won't leave home without - and that's her cell phone and her shapewear! While taking in the LA Lakers game with her hubby, Kanye West, on Oct. 26 at the Staples Center in LA, she put both on full display! The 34-year-old, (with her cell phone in hand!), stole the spotlight in tight separates, which included a black skirt with a high slit - and it stretched even further up her thigh while she sat down, allowing her SPANX to show - oh no!

Kim Kardashian's Spanx - Wardrobe Malfunction At Basketball Game:

Although Kim's Spanx were totally visible she didn't seem to care - she was more interested in her phone! The star looked totally glam for the game as she sat next to her hubby - leave it to Kim to steal the attention away from the athletes.

While Kim is no stranger to flashing her SPANX and it looks like she hardly ever leaves home without them there is a way for her to cover up her shapewear. If the star wants to wear SPANX every day, she might be better off rocking a pair that's just a brief or a bodysuit and leaving the shorts for when she wears a longer dress.

What do you think? Do you think her malfunction is totally mortifying or is it really not a big deal? Would you ever wear SPANX to a basketball game?

Kim Kardashian Flashes Nipples At Tech Conference In Silicon Valley

When sexy meets techie! The reality star made sure her signature curves stole the spotlight in a clinging white number while also showing off her nipples, yet again! Considering how often she goes braless and flashes her nips, it is clearly a trend she's quite fond of these days. Was her look totally hot or way too over the top for the tech conference?

Sure, tech conventions might not be known for their sexy celeb appearances - but that all changed when Kim Kardashian turned up in San Francisco for the Code/Mobile conference on Oct. 27, where she sat down with Recode founder Kara Swisher. The 34-year-old was on hand to help moderate and discuss the widespread success of her Hollywood game - and she showed off her curves in the process!

Kim Kardashian's Nipples At Tech Conference - Flashes In Hot White Outfit:

Kim recycled a clinging, high-waisted skirt that fell below the knees and allowed her to display her famous figure. While she covered up by pairing it with a long-sleeved shirt and kept her ample cleavage under wraps, her chest still managed to steal the spotlight as her nipples showed right through the clinging fabric of her get-up. Upon closer inspection it is clear that Kim was actually wearing a thin bra, (as you can see the outline), however that still didn't assist in covering up this malfunction.

While some may say this hot mama sometimes deliberately flaunts too much of her figure, on this occasion there isn't much else she could've done to prevent this from happening in her outfit. Had she worn a thicker, padded bra it would've been visible under the fabric and then everyone would be criticizing her chest. Sure, Kim looked sexy, but this star could make a paper bag look sexy given her curves - and I think it was wise of her to dress more sleek and covered up for the occasion. I also love that she recycled her look.

Kim toned down her look with a modest pair of nude pumps and wore her long hair straight, down her back, and sported minimal makeup.

What do you think? Are you outraged over Kim's visible nip sitch or do you think it was just an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction?

Is There Anything Kanye West Can't Do? Watch Him Coach This Football Team

Kanye West is a primetime player in the music game, but the G.O.O.D. Music head honcho is just as effective behind the scenes. As a producer and label head Yeezy has put numbers on the board with John Legend, 2 Chainz, Pusha T and Big Sean; so it's only fitting that 'Ye took on the role of Coach Kanye in Sean's upcoming 'IDFWU' video.

MTV News hit Sean's football-themed set, in Santa Clarita, California on October 19, and we were in awe of it all; especially West's presence on the sideline.

Just look at how Kanye leads his team to victory with a Lombardi-like grace and the fire of Bill Parcells. It's only a matter of time before we see him on 'Sports Center,' right?

'Obviously football plays a part of it. I'm the star quarterback, one team against another team,' Sean told us about the video's concept. 'It's a couple cameos in the video, nothing too crazy.'

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West "Divorce Battle Over Baby North"?

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are NOT in a 'divorce battle over baby North,' despite a new tabloid rumor. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust the speculation, which began with an cover story alleging that Kardashian and West are at war over how to raise their daughter.

According to In Touch, the stars are heading for a 'split,' and 'the fight for custody is already getting nasty.' The magazine says Kardashian and West's marriage is on 'life support,' alleging that they recently had their 'ugliest' fight yet just hours before attending her birthday party at Tao Las Vegas together last weekend. A so-called 'insider' for the tabloid explains that West told Kardashian he was planning to move to Paris full-time, and 'it was like a sucker punch to the back of her head. She screamed back that there was no way in hell he was taking North, then ran out of the room sobbing.'

'The ruse stopped that night,' declares the In Touch insider. 'She's finally done with The Kanye Show - a divorce and custody battle are imminent.' The magazine speculates that the couple's biggest looming fight is over whether North should be included on 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians,' with West potentially using that as evidence that their child is being exploited. Meanwhile, Kardashian will supposedly fight against West's alleged plans to raise North abroad. The source says, 'This could be the messiest divorce battle ever. It's going to be all-out war for that little girl.'

At this point, what can we say about 's coverage of the Kardashians? It's really, really, In Touchreally bad. The magazine claimed Kim and Kanye split back in July. That was false. The magazine used a phony picture of Kardashian's wedding dress on its cover to illustrate a made-up story about the couple's 'wedding from hell.' The magazine keeps printing 100 percent false rumors about Khloe Kardashian 's supposed 'real' dad. The tabloid's reporting on the family never ends and never improves.

A rep for Kardashian tells Gossip Cop it's 'not true,' adding that In Touch didn't even bother to check. We look forward to a couple months from now, when Kardashian and West are still together, and In Touch publishes its next 'divorce' story, completely ignoring how wrong it was on this one.

Kim Kardashian Continues "Waist Training," Takes Selfie of Tiny Frame: Picture

Waists are so last season! Kim Kardashian is constantly working on her famous figure, and these days she has a little help from her trusty corsets.

On Wednesday, Oct. 29, the reality star, 34, posted a full-body selfie via Instagram, showing off her tiny figure.

PHOTOS: Kim in crop tops

'I'm really obsessed with waist training! Thank you @premadonna87 for my new waist shapers! #whatsawaist,' she captioned the photo of herself in black workout gear with the blue waist shaper around her middle.

This isn't the first time the mother of little Nori has promoted the new trend. In August, she Instagrammed another photo of herself wearing a corset from What's a Waist, which retails at $143.50.

PHOTOS: Kimye's sweetest moments

The idea behind waist training is that wearing the device for long periods of time will permanently change your shape. But there are critics of the trend, which is also practiced by Kim's younger sister Khloe Kardashian.

PHOTOS: Kim's childhood album

Women's Health Magazine spoke to Mary Jane Minkin, the clinical professor of obsetetrics and gynecology at Yale School of Medicine, who noted, 'Once you take the garment off, your body will return to its usual shape. It's also uncomfortable, restricts your movements, and if you wear it really tight, it can even make it difficult to breathe and theoretically could cause rib damage.'

Obamacare sends health premiums skyrocketing by as much as 78 percent

The Affordable Care Act was supposed to make health care more affordable, but a newly released study of insurance policies before and after Obamacare shows that average premiums have skyrocketed, for some groups by as much as 78 percent.

Average insurance premiums in the sought-after 23-year-old demographic rose most dramatically, with men in that age group seeing an average 78.2 percent price increase before factoring in government subsidies, and women having their premiums rise 44.9 percent, according to a report by HealthPocket scheduled for release Wednesday.

The study, which was shared Tuesday with The Washington Times, examined average health insurance premiums before the implementation of Obamacare in 2013 and then afterward in 2014. The research focused on people of three ages - 23, 30 and 63 - using data for nonsmoking men and women with no spouses or children.

PHOTOS: Armed and liberal: Left-leaning celebrities who are pro-gun

The premium increases for 30-year-olds were almost as high as for 23-year-olds - 73.4 percent for men and 35.1 percent for women - said the study, titled 'Without Subsidies Women & Men, Old & Young Average Higher Monthly Premiums with Obamacare.'

'It's very eye-opening in terms of the transformation occurring within the individual health insurance market,' said Kev Coleman, head of research and data at HealthPocket, a nonpartisan, independently managed subsidiary of Health Insurance Innovations in Sunnyvale, California.

Despite administration promises that the Affordable Care Act would reduce the costs ... more >

'I was surprised in general to see the differences in terms of the average premiums in the pre-reform and post-reform markets,' Mr. Coleman said. 'It was a higher amount than I had anticipated.'

PHOTOS: Celebrity mugshots: Stars behind bars

The eye-popping increases among younger insurance buyers could be a problem for Obamacare's long-term solvency given that young people are needed to offset the higher costs associated with older policyholders.

'Obviously they're very important, and as much as they're healthier, they tend to use health care less, so you want to try and have as many of those people enrolled as possible. And the cost for them went up very [steeply],' Mr. Coleman said.

The price increases for 63-year-olds were less dramatic: a 37.5 percent increase on average for women and 22.7 percent for men.

The study doesn't include the federal premium subsidies offered to those earning between 100 and 400 percent of the federal poverty limit, but Mr. Coleman points out that not everyone in that bracket qualifies because their premiums must exceed a certain percentage of their income.

'So you still have this issue of health insurance rising for that very young group and, depending on where they are with respect to income and premium, they may not qualify for a subsidy,' Mr. Coleman said. 'That's what we like to refer to as a subsidy gap.'

The report also notes that somebody pays for the subsidy, even if it's not the policyholder.

'Another important consideration in the discussion of subsidized premiums is that the subsidized portion of the premium still must be paid by the government through the money it collects from the nation,' says the study. 'In other words, the subsidized costs of health insurance do not disappear but instead change payers.'

A spokeswoman with the Department of Health and Human Services declined to comment because she had not yet seen the report.

The reasons for the premium increases start with the ACA's prohibition on rejecting applicants with pre-existing conditions, which means that insurance companies must account for the additional costs of covering chronically ill or disabled people.

Kim Kardashian Talks Kylie Jenner's Lips, Changing Style During Second ...

People have a lot to say about Kim Kardashian-whether it's her fashion, her features or anything in between, everyone has an opinion.

's wife is used to this by now, and so is her famous family! Most recently, Kylie Jenner and her noticeably fuller lips were the rumor mill's target du jour. The 17-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star tweeted Tuesday that she was 'bored' by reports claiming she'd had lip injections, but she left it at that. That same day, big sis Kim took it a step further-revealing the secret to Kylie's perfect pout!

VIDEO: Kylie Jenner fires back at plastic surgery attacks!

'She draws her lip [traces the outer ledge of her lip] and it looks amazing,' the 34-year-old told Pixiwoo, a U.K. beauty blog hosted by sisters Sam and Nic Chapman. 'She only wears a lip liner, an then she fills it in. She doesn't wear a lipstick or a gloss.'

'She's really good at makeup,' said Kim.'s mama has a knack for it, too thanks in part to the 'makeup lessons' her father Robert Kardashian gave her for Christmas when she was 14. 'At the time, he said, 'If my girls are going to start to wear makeup, I want them to look appropriate. I don't want them to wear too crazy of makeup,'' she recalled.

Admittedly, Kim still had her share of beauty blunders through the years, but more recently she seems to have come into her own style wise. Pixiwoo asked Kim how it felt being 'a fashion icon'-something she quickly dismissed, saying, 'I don't even think of myself like that!'

PHOTOS: Kardashians without makeup!

Citing and Carine Roitfeld as her personal style icons, Kim said she respects 'any time someone really evolves and changes up their style.'

She had make some wardrobe changes of her own during her pregnancy with North. 'I wore my regular clothes and tried to make it-I would ust buy it a size up,' she said.

'I don't know if i would necessarily do that this time around,' added Kim, who's been open about the fact that she and Kanye are trying for baby No. 2. 'I would wear...well at the end, I really needed maternity clothes.'

'Pregnancy style is hard,' she said with a laugh. 'I'm not gonna lie!'

To call the rise of Auto-Tune and the rise of T-Pain's popularity synonymous would be an understatement of the highest degree. While others used the tool before T-Pain, no one manipulated the sound the way he did, which led to a flurry of hit singles and successful albums for the 29-year-old artist.

Naturally, success brought imitation. In a HuffPost Live interview on Tuesday, he said only two of those imitators - Jamie Foxx and Chris Brown - use Auto-Tune correctly, in his mind.

'When people hear Auto-Tune, they know that it's used so much for a crutch. I use it to turn my voice into an instrument. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of guys that use Auto-Tune that cannot sing. The only person I heard use it correctly, like I use it, was Chris Brown and Jamie Foxx,' T-Pain said.

When asked about Kanye West - who famously made an entire album, '808s and Heartbreak,' with Auto-Tune - Pain said that while West makes good music with the tool, he just doesn't use it right.

'Kanye uses it, but he doesn't use it correctly. He makes great music with it, but the way that I use it and the way that I've shown Chris and Jamie to use it, he doesn't use it that way,' he said. 'He sings without it first, and then he puts it on it. ... You don't know how it's going to come out. You can't catch your mistakes before that happens. Sometimes he gets a little wobbly and things like that.'

Pain, who helped West on '808s,' clarified that the album is 'pretty good' about Auto-Tune usage because of his help. T-Pain also likened it to his own debut album, 'Rappa Ternt Sanga.'

'That was pretty good because I had a lot to do with that. '808s and Heartbreak' is 'Rappa Ternt Sanga.' He told me 'Rappa Ternt Sanga' is just a bunch of love songs with a gang of bass. Which is '808s and Heartbreak.''

West has made two solo albums ('My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' and 'Yeezus') since '808s,' and both have used Auto-Tune throughout the record.

Kanye West doesn't even live with Kim Kardashian; rarely sees her

The Kim Kardashian-Kanye West marriage is a public relations hoax, Kris Jenner's new boy toy strongly insinuated in an exclusive interview with SandraRose.com.

Kanye West rarely, if ever, goes over to Kris Jenner's house, where his wife Kim Kardashian still lives along their daughter Nori, as far as Jenner's boyfriend Corey Gamble can see. He's obviously been there multiple times and has spent the night (no need for elaboration).

The subject was broached after a loyal reader of Sandra Rose's exposed Gamble fib about his actual age. He had been telling folks he was in his 40s, but later admitted during the interview on SandraRose.com that he lied and that he's actually in his early 30s - professing that he only did that to alleviate any embarrassment that would come to Kris Jenner, 60, for dating a man half her advanced age.

During the interview, however, Gamble stated that he noticed how little interaction or expressions of love there is between Kanye and Kardashian and that they only show affection for the cameras.

Check out how Gamble segued from Jenner to the Kardashian-Kanye marriage, even though he kept saying their marriage is none of his business:

SANDRA ROSE: Is she (Gamble's mom) at least happy for you - that you're happy? ' COREY GAMBLE: No. She thinks Kris (Jenner) is an opportunist, and I told her well, let me stand corrected. I think Kris is a great woman. I know she has a bad reputation in the media, but she's been loving to me. I've spent the night over there with Kris... and Kim um, Kanye is never there...' SR: Wait a minute.. you said Kanye is never there with Kim? CG: 'No. He um, he uh, has another house in the Los Angeles area. I think he's recording. He's not really there. I don't know what kind of relationship they have going on, but he's not ever there... Yeah, it's um... I shouldn't probably be talking about it, but it's none of my business.' SR: So they only get together to make public appearances? CG: 'Yeah, I'd say that [laughs]. He's never at the house.' [Corey said the rest is off the record]. SR: Kim is still living with Kris? CG: 'Yeah, Kim lives with Kris. They are supposed to be buying a house down the street. Um, it's not my business [laughs]. Yeah, they're supposed to be buying a house, um, they're supposed to be closing on it [more laughs]. I really don't think Kim wants to leave Kris.'

Microbusinesses Struggle to Cover Health Insurance Costs

Story Highlights In first decade, half depend on other employer for insurance Health insurance source changes with age, employment status Finding good employees more difficult without health benefits

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- While the vast majority of microbusiness owners have health insurance, only 31% provide it for themselves through their own business or out of pocket, according to the Sam's Club/Gallup Microbusiness Tracker. Just as many have insurance through a former or current employer that is not their business, while another 19% depend on Medicare instead. Providing for at least the owner's health insurance appears to mark an important milestone as these smallest of businesses develop over time.

Offering employee health benefits is costly for most in the U.S. Microbusinesses, defined as having five or fewer workers, are too small to take advantage of significant economies of scale when negotiating insurance premiums and so generally pay much more per employee for their insurance packages than larger businesses do. Only one in five (21%) microbusiness owners who have at least one employee say they provide health insurance for their employees. That may in part be explained by the substantial 41% of employer microbusiness owners who say they are concerned about a significant increase in the cost of providing health benefits in the next 12 months. Owners who do provide healthcare are understandably much more likely to be concerned about these costs and to count this as a major issue facing their businesses.

Though microbusinesses are not large enough to be legally required to provide employee health insurance, attracting and recruiting talented employees can be much more difficult without this important benefit. Indeed, microbusiness owners who provide employee health coverage are less likely than those who don't to say that finding qualified employees is a major issue.

Health Insurance Source Changes With Age, Employment Status

The Sam's Club/Gallup Microbusiness Tracker reported in early 2014 that many microbusiness owners maintain a second job outside their business, with almost one-third (31%) getting more personal income from that job than from their business. By the same token, about half of microbusiness owners who have been in business for a decade or less depend on a separate/former employer's insurance, while only about one-third provide it themselves. But owners who have been in business more than 10 years -- and in particular those in business for more than 20 years -- are more likely to provide their own health insurance than to depend on a separate employer. The percentage getting their health insurance from Medicare also increases among those in business longer -- though this is not surprising, given that many owners who have been in business that long are 65 or older, and thus eligible for Medicare coverage.

Microbusiness owners who get their health insurance through their business overwhelmingly identify as being employed full time (86%), either for an employer or for themselves. Most (69%) are 50 to 64 years of age and employ others at their business (72%). Those who identify as 'employed full time for an employer' are most likely to get their insurance from a job other than the business they own. They are about equally likely to get most of their income from such a job as to get it from their business. Owners who say they are full-time 'self-employed' are the most likely to pay for their own insurance through their business or out of pocket (39%, vs. 31% for all microbusiness owners).

Bottom Line

Most Americans depend on their employer for health insurance coverage, and providing health insurance to employees -- including oneself -- is a major business cost that has been growing for decades. Health insurance coverage is expensive for most in the U.S., but per-person costs can be brought down significantly with the group insurance plans that most large employers negotiate. However, microbusinesses have the least financial and organizational resources of any business to begin with, and can't benefit from the economies of scale of larger businesses' health plans.

Microbusinesses must often compete with larger businesses for the same pool of employee candidates, with a significant handicap in the employee benefits they can offer. On average, microbusiness owners who have been in business longer are more likely to say they provide this benefit, though it is still much less than a majority. However, owners who provide health benefits are less likely to say finding qualified employees is an issue, suggesting that offering health insurance is a real advantage when hiring. Perhaps more than any other metric, covering at least the owner's health coverage appears to be an important milestone for these smallest of businesses in becoming self-sufficient enterprises with the ability to grow.

Survey Methods

Results for the Sam's Club/Gallup Microbusiness Tracker are based on telephone interviews conducted on a quarterly basis with a random sample of microbusiness owners aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. Business owners selected were those who reported owning a 'microbusiness' with five or fewer workers, including the owner. Results from the Quarter 3, 2014, study are based on 1,005 interviews conducted Sept. 2-16, 2014. For results based on the total sample of Quarter 3, 2014, business owners, the margin of sampling error is ±4.2 percentage points at the 95% confidence interval.

Interviews were conducted with respondents on landline and cellular telephones. All interviews were conducted in English. Respondents were chosen at random from a group of people who had completed a previous general Gallup telephone interview and indicated they were a business owner and were willing to be contacted for a future survey. The sample was stratified by businesses size and weighted for business size and region.
