Kim Kardashian has refuted reports she was 'denied' access to President Obama at a charity gala earlier this week.

The 33-year-old reality TV star donned her best all-white outfit ahead of her reported wedding to Kanye later this month, and showed her support for survivors of the Armenian genocide at the USC Shoah Foundation 20th Anniversary Ambassadors For Humanity Gala, also attended by US President Barack Obama.

But Kim's hopes of befriending the 52-year-old President were scuppered when she tried to speak to him but was turned away by security. TMZ reported

Speaking exclusively to Mail Online, a representative for Kim said: 'She never asked for 'access'. I was with her. The story is nonsense.'

A source revealed to TMZ: 'Kim's table wasn't close to President Obama's. She enlisted one of her minions to scout out the opportunity to meet him.

'Obama's table and surrounding area was swarming with Secret Service, and security was very tight. Kim's lackey was told to go pound sand, and it was conveyed to Kim that she wouldn't be able to meet him.'

Although they didn't speak at the gala, President Obama is all-too aware of the Hollywood couple, having moaned about the exposure the pair have had, in an interview.

He was discussing the shift in culture with today's youth being bombarded with the trappings of wealth.

Speaking to Amazon in 2013, he said: 'We weren't exposed to things we didn't have in the same way kids these days are... Kids weren't monitoring every day what Kim Kardashian was wearing, or where Kanye West was going on vacation, and thinking that somehow that was the mark of success.'

And he's not too fond of Kanye either, if reports are to be believed.

While speaking to a CNBC reporter in September 2009, Obama reportedly referred to Kanye as a 'jackass' in an off-the-record conversation about his behaviour toward Taylor Swift at the VMAs that year.

Then in 2012 the President told a reporter for The Atlantic, 'He is a jackass but he's talented,' when pushed to discuss his previous comments about the rapper.

It remains to be seen if Obama will be getting an invite to the wedding of the year, rumoured to be held later this month in Paris.
