Young Chop Working on New Kanye West Album

Share on :

Young Chop has come a long way since he crafted the beats behind Chief Keef's breakout hits, 'Love Sosa' and 'Don't Like.' From working with Puff Daddy to actually rapping himself, the Chicago native seems intent on breaking out of any typecasting that he is placed in.

Young Chop will do this by playing a key role on two of the year's most anticipated rap albums, Kanye West's seventh solo LP and the sophomore album from Meek Mill. Now armed with his own production team, Chop spoke with, revealing slight details on these projects.

On his work with West, Chop said, 'That song that we have is a hit. I'm talking about a super hit.' He would go on to praise West's talent and studio ethic, saying 'He was in on every session. Just really coaching ni-as on how to make s-t sound great. That's what I learned. When you hear my new s-t, all that s-t I learnt from 'Ye.'

If you are surprised to hear this, it is probably because you recall Chop's anti-Yeezy quote after West released a remix of 'Don't Like'. 'I'm mad as hell,' Chop said to 'I'm mad as f-k...they did not ask me to change up s-t in my beat... They don't have no files to none of my s-t, so how the f-k did they add another melody over the instrumental? These mother f--s is playin' me and I don't give two f-s, I will sue the s-t out of Kanye West.'

Nice to see two professionals bury the hatchet.

As for Meek Mill, Chop also praised the rapper, saying 'Bro ain't playing. He just goes back to back on s-t. Knocking them out. All freestyle, he don't write anything down.'
