BOSTON (WWLP) - Leaders with the state's health insurance reached out to ethnic communities. 22News has all of the deadlines if you still need apply for state-sponsored health insurance.
The state's troubled health insurance website still isn't fully working, but officials are still urging people to apply anyway they can.
People needing federal subsidized health insurance are still having trouble applying online through the state's Health Connector website. The other option was to do it the old-fashioned way with a paper application, but that too was significantly backlogged.
Those in charge of Health Connector say they've brought in 340 workers to manually enter paper applications, but there's still more work to be done. With deadlines looming, they stressed the importance to apply right away.
Executive Director for Mass. Health Connector Jean Yang told 22News, 'We encourage people to submit electronic applications, but if you have trouble, can't get through, use paper. The last thing we want you to do is not to do anything.'
For those that need health insurance coverage starting April 1st, the deadline to apply is this Monday, March 24th. For coverage beginning in May, you'll need to apply by March 31st.
There is help if you're having trouble with the application process, or if you need a paper application. To apply through Health Connector, Click Here.
