Kanye West to marry Kim Kardashian 'next summer'

Kanye West jokingly apologized to men everywhere for 'turning it up so much' in his propsal to Kim Kardashian on her 33rd birthday.

Kanye West got candid in a radio interview with Los Angeles station Power 106, opening up about his new fiancée, Kim Kardashian, and even sharing the details about how he popped the question to his lady love.

'It's going to be sometime next summer,' West, 36, said of the upcoming wedding.

'I only got two words in my mind, and that's fighter jets.'

The sure to be lavish wedding has only been planned up to that point, the rapper said, telling radio host Big Boy that he hasn't picked a best man yet.

West dished about how the extravagant proposal - in which he took over a San Francisco baseball stadium, hired a 50-piece orchestra and had a Jumbotron screen his big question - had him 'nervous' about its execution.

'I was nervous a little bit, about everything happening exactly on cue,' he said, adding that he argued specifics with some of the field's staff.

'They didn't have the lights exactly like how I wanted.'

The 'Blood on the Leaves' rapper also jokingly apologized to men everywhere for 'turning it up so much' with his over-the-top proposal.

'I thought it would be dope,' he said about his baseball stadium set up, adding that there wasn't much significance behind the location or plan.

But West suspects his girlfriend knew it was coming.

'I think Kim just knows everything,' he said. 'It's not a surprise.'

'She knew I was eventually going to ask her to marry me, I just had to get that ring right. I worked with four different jewelers. Three rings were made, and only one actually hit the finger. ... I actually changed the ring the night before. That ring was less than four hours old when I gave it to her.'

Kardashian sang a different tune. Speaking to E! News reporters at her birthday party in Las Vegas, the reality starlet, 33, said she had 'no idea' a proposal was coming.

'I cried afterwards,' she said. 'I was shaking. And when you're like, 'Is this really happening?' But you're just shaking. ... I honestly had no idea, none whatsoever.'

'I knew we were going to San Francisco for my birthday, because he had a show there the next night. So I thought it was just a birthday dinner.' West said he called Kardashian's mother, Kris Jenner, 'that day' to ask for her hand in marriage, which also made him nervous.

Kardashian plans to take her future husband's last name, she told E! News, explaining that she will become Kim Kardashian West, much like sister Khloe Kardashian who added husband Lamar Odom's last name to her own.

This marks a change from her last go around: Kardashian did not want to take Kris Humphries' last name when they got married.
