News watchdog Media Matters called out Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace for hyping reports that insurers are cancelling health plans. Wallace failed to mention that new policies will offer better coverage at comparable cost.
Citing figures from a Kaiser Health News article, Wallace claimed the article showed people losing health insurance, not gaining it, Media Matters reported. 'Panelist Brit Hume complained that people were being forced into coverage 'for things they may feel they don't need' ... but Wallace neglected to cite the section of the article that noted that 'the new policies will offer consumers better coverage, in some cases, for comparable cost - especially after the inclusion of federal subsidies for those who qualify.'' the group said.
