The Beatles legend admitted that if he had ended up with a rap collaboration on his album New, it would have been with rap heavyweights Jay-Z and Kanye West

Macca spoke to Zayn Lowe about his new album

With the city of London behind him, Sir Paul McCartney gave fans a fascinating insight into his music as part of Bang & Olufsen's new project, The Living Room Tour.

The 71-year-old was promoting his solo album titled New and took questions about writing the album, working with new producers, the recording process, and also revealed which rappers he'd have chosen to work with if a collaboration took place.

Talking about the trippy, funk-infused Giles Martin produced track Appreciate, the Beatles star said he: 'Resisted the temptation to get a rapper in.'

Host Zayn Lowe then asked Sir Paul if he had decided on a collaboration for the track, who would have been awarded the honour?

'Oh, Jay-Z, Kanye,' he replied.

Earlier this month, in his first ever live Twitter Q&A, Sir Paul said that some of his recent album purchases included Kanye West and Jay-Z.
