There's a traditional African proverb that states, 'It takes a village to raise a child,' which may be why Kim Kardashian, 33, reached out to her older sister, Kourtney Kardashian, 35, for help after giving birth to baby , 1. In the September/October 2014 issue of Natural Health, Kourtney reveals how she helps Kim raise North, how she keeps her kids healthy and the changes she's made to her beauty routine now that she's expecting baby number three!
Kourtney Kardashian: Advice For Kim Kardashian & Healthy Eating
Kourtney, who has a lot of experience parenting - she has son Mason, 4, daughter Penelope, 2, and a third baby one the way with partner Scott Disick - lends a hand to Kim whenever it's needed.
When asked about North, Kourtney revealed, '[My kids] love [North] so much. I'm so happy that Penelope gets to grow up with a cousin close to her age, too. They're less than a year apart. Kim asks me for advice a lot, but she's such a great mom, very nurturing. It's nice to see how people [parent] differently. Our kids are all lucky to have many different people around them to give them so much love.'
Inside the issue, Kourtney also stated that her healthy eating habits were something she had to learn by herself.
'I was not raised this way-people just weren't as aware of healthy eating as they are today. When I got home from school, my snack was a bag of chips or cookies, and as an adult, I didn't even know what organic meant-I'd just go to the market and buy the same things my mom bought. I didn't really have any thoughts about it before I had my kids. Starting off, I was big on breastfeeding; I nursed my first for 14 months and my second for 16. That was important to me. Then I began making their baby food myself, all of it organic. After that, I was super cautious about what to introduce into their diets. I called a bunch of the restaurants in my neighborhood that I had assumed served all-organic food, and so many didn't,' she explained.
Despite her family's clean eating habits, though, Kourtney admits she does give in to her (pregnancy) cravings from time to time.
'I try to eat pretty healthy, but I think it's fun and important to listen to your cravings. I develop a thing for Nilla Wafer cookies every time [I'm pregnant]. I have no idea why! I've also been into cheese and pickle sandwiches. Everyone thinks I'm gross when I order them,' she said.

Thankfully, the kids also get 'cheat' days. 'We definitely make exceptions, like if we're at Disneyland,' Kourtney said, adding that the kids also eat less restrictedly at 'Grandma's house.' (We bet Mason and Penelope love Kris Jenner!)
Kourtney Kardashian Pregnant: Changes To Beauty Routine & Fitness
Since realizing she's expecting, Kourtney has changed her beauty routine.
'I'm constantly using this pregnancy skin-care from Mama Mio - there's one cream for your boobs and a few for your stomach. After I shower, I take five minutes to myself to apply the lotions and really take care of my skin,' she explained.
As for how Kourtney is staying fit during her pregnancy, she said, 'I did yoga during my last pregnancy. I was anxious, and it just helped me feel calm. There are lots of good yoga studios out here in the Hamptons, so I might start again.'
