Thought health care enrollment season was over? Not so fast.
The D.C. Health Benefit Exchange Authority announced Wednesday it will, yet again, extend the health insurance special open enrollment period. This time, enrollment for individual and family coverage through D.C. Health Link will now end April 30. It was originally extended from March 31 to April 15.
I haven't heard back from D.C. Health Link officials yet on exactly why the extension was needed, but a release from them cites 'high demand.' Those enrolling after March 31 will have to attest they tried to sign up for coverage before the deadline but could not, they said.
