CHICAGO (AP) _ Health insurance enrollment events are scheduled in Illinois this weekend to help people meet a key deadline.
Monday is the last day to sign up for a health plan on the Illinois marketplace with coverage starting Jan. 1. Enrollment continues through Feb. 15. Choosing a plan after Monday means coverage starting in February or March.
Enrollment events are listed at the Get Covered Illinois website. People can find in-person help there and a toll-free phone number for assistance. Or consumers can go directly to HealthCare.gov to compare and choose health plans.
This is the second year of subsidized coverage under President Barack Obama's health care law. Returning enrollees are encouraged to compare their existing policies to others available, since some plans have changed their prices and benefits.
