'I Want Her To Twerk More': Kanye West Defends Miley Cyrus After VMAs ...

Kanye West is probably one of the few celebrities who can relate to the criticism Miley Cyrus has received over the last few months so it comes as no surprise that the rapper has actually encouraged the controversial young singer's twerking antics following her MTV Video Music Awards appearance this summer.

'Wrecking Ball' singer Miley caused a stir back in August when she hit the stage for a performance of 'Blurred Lines' where she proceeded to strip off to a nude latex bikini, before gyrating and twerking into Robin Thicke's crotch, prompting many complaints from viewers at home.

One person who wasn't too phased by Miley's antics was 'New Slaves' rapper Kanye who headed to the studio straight after the ceremony to record a remix of his 'Yeezus' track 'Black Skinhead.'

Jumping to Miley's defence, Kanye said in a recent interview with station 97.1 Amp Radio: 'I just met her the day of the VMAs. And I was like, you know, 'Go. Go. Just go, go for it, do what you feel.' If that was a thought, if you have an idea creatively, from a Donda perspective [the name of West's creative company] I would just want her to twerk more. That would be my thing.'

Kanye goes on to admit that perhaps there was too much going on in Miley's performance and that the singer should have twerked throughout the entire set.

'I think they just had her doing too many [things], or she decided or whatever as an artist,' he explains.

'Think about my 'Runaway' performance on the MTV VMAs vs my 'Touch the Sky' slash 'Gold Digger' slash 'All Falls Down' performance at the Grammys. The more experienced you get, the more you simplify.'

He added: 'I just think her entire performance should have just been twerking just all the time. Twerk twerk twerk twerk twerk twerk twerk twerk twerk, you know?'

Shortly after the VMAs, 'We Can't Stop' producer Mike Will Made It confirmed that Miley and Kanye had recorded a collaboration together just hours after the ceremony. 'We went to the studio with Kanye,' Mike Will told MTV's RapFix.

'We went right back to work. We made sure - boom. We watched the VMAs a little bit, but we went straight to the studio really. We're just touching the beat up a little bit, but it's about done. It's sounding crazy.'

Mike added: 'Ye is somebody who understands. I think that people that understand it aren't really going to have anything too negative or anything too much to say about the performance. It's really the people who don't understand it and it's really the media.'
