Kanye West has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanour charges relating to an incident with a photographer at LAX airport in July (2013).

A video of the incident appeared online on July 20, the day after the alleged attack occurred. The video shows West initially trying to ignore questions from the photographer, Daniel Ramos, before appearing to lose his patience and beginning an agitated conversation with the man.

The rapper then tries to seize Ramos' camera in a scuffle which sees the paparazzo fall to the ground. After being urged to stop by an onlooker, West holds his hands up and walks away.

West was charged with battery and attempted grand theft for the scuffle with Ramos. Reuters reports that the rapper's attorney, Blair Berk, entered the plea on West's behalf in Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday (November 8). Ramos' lawyer revealed that her client is 'suffering from injuries sustained in the incident' having hurt his hip during the incident. A new hearing date has been scheduled for January 23 next year though West is not required to attend.

Kanye West's 'Yeezus' tour is set to restart on November 16. The tour was postponed after a truck carrying a 60-foot circular LED screen and custom-made video truss crashed on October 30, destroying the items. Gigs that were cancelled in Vancouver, Denver, Columbus, Montreal, Minneapolis and St. Louis will not be rescheduled due to 'routing logistics' says West's US label Island Def Jam, but the Chicago, Toronto and Detroit shows which were pulled have been rearranged for mid-December.
