Kanye West pleaded not guilty Thursday to attacking a photographer outside Los Angeles International Airport in July, reports TMZ.

The 'Bound 2' rapper's lawyer, Blair Berk, appeared in court on his behalf to enter the plea, and the photog Daniel Ramos' attorney, Gloria Allred, was also present.

The alleged assault took place during the summer when Ramos was snapping photos of West. Kim Kardashian's fiancé reportedly wasn't happy about the shots and allegedly tried to steal the shutterbug's camera. The men wrestled a bit before Ramos ended up on the ground with West standing over him, photos show.

'He didn't hurt the pap,' a source told Us Weekly at the time. 'They were just heckling him as usual. Kanye went to grab the camera, and the guy fell being so dramatic.'

But Ramos pressed charges, and the 36-year-old rapper was hit with misdemeanor counts of criminal battery and attempted grand theft.

West filed a counterclaim, saying he acted in self-defense. The documents stated that the photographer 'willfully and wrongfully caused (West) to reasonably believe his safety was in danger.'

Additionally, the 'On Sight' rapper said he did what was 'necessary for his self-defense and safety and was justified in doing those acts.'

On top of the criminal charges West faces, Ramos also sued him for alleged assault and battery.

If North West's dad is found guilty, he faces a maximum of one year in lockup.
