Kanye West's Snood: Was His Hooded Scarf Really Cool Or Ridiculous?

The rapper was spotted out with his fiancé in NYC, but while Kim was totally glam Kanye covered up, using his accessory as a disguise! What do you think of his latest fashion statement? Is it totally cool or does he look like a tool? VOTE.

Fashion-forward men, rejoice - Kanye West is singlehandedly bringing back the man snood, (or is it more of a hoodarf?). While we're all about being practical and chic when it comes to accessorizing in the cold weather, we're not totally sold on Kanye's latest look, which he showed off in NYC on Feb. 20 - especially because his scarf/hat combo was more of a paparazzi barrier than a way to actually combat the cold. In fact, the high temperature in NYC was 51 degrees - that's warmer than it has been in months!

Although Kanye's headgear seemed a bit severe for the rather warm NY day, the rapper paired the snood with a lightweight bomber jacket that was definitely more appropriate for the climate. While Kanye seemed more dressed down, his lady love, Kim Kardashian, was beyond glam showing off her fantastic figure in an all-black ensemble that consisted of a luxe cropped fur jacket and a form-fitting silhouette that put her curves on display - we're sure Kanye can't get enough of Kim's gorgeous look!

The History Of The Hoodarf:

The hooded scarf, snood-like accessory had a major moment in menswear for the Fall 2012 season, where the look emerged on the runways at Robert Geller, Antonio Azzuolo, and Simon Spurr. While the designers were all about the 'hoodarf,' pairing it with everything from separates to suits, it didn't quite catch on or become a major trend - but if Kanye has his way the accessory may be here to stay.

Kanye is never one to shy away from making a style statement and we think it's cool that he loves showing off his affinity for fashion, so we can't knock him for accessorizing. We also can't blame Kanye for wanting to cover up when he's around the paparazzi - after all, they have provoked him in the past and it's clear that he can easily lose his cool. Given his track record, it isn't surprising that he wants to hide away!
