Kim Kardashian: Getting Boobs Lasered For Stretch Marks Was Smart

Kim Kardashian may get criticized for getting Botox and fillers, but she was totally smart to get her breasts lasered! HollywoodLife.com spoke with leading dermatologists to find out if it really does work and if all new mommies should consider following in Kim's breast-steps.

Kim Kardashian - Smart For Her To Get Laser On Her Breasts

Kim went to the doctor to tell them that they she's hates the stretch marks on her boobs and that's when they put her under the laser! It seems a bit scary if you've never had laser but doctors tell HollywoodLife.com that it's the best way to take away the scarred skin so that new collagen can form in its place.

'Stretch marks is caused by thinning of the skin. It's a loss of collagen, so there are lasers that I use to promote collagen and thicken the skin back up,' Dr. Dennis Gross tells HollywoodLife.com. 'The lasers work nicely but I always tell patients that it takes a couple of treatments.'

Dr. David Katz, Director of Juva Skin & Laser Center, tells us that he usually tells new mothers to wait about six months after giving birth to get laser. But in case you're worried this could affect breastfeeding, or be harmful to the baby, doctors tell us not to worry!

'Laser is light it's not radiation,' Dr. Katz tells us. 'It doesn't have any negative affect on the breast or the breast milk.'

Dr. Gross agrees: 'It's a non-invasive laser, it doesn't go into the deep tissue. It's in the thin zone.'

This treatment is becoming more and more popular, and Dr. Katz tells us that 'a lot of women want this done.' But the bottom line is, it works and it's not wonder Kim did it!

'Once you revive collagen with laser it stays there,' Dr. Gross says. 'I can't say it'll be just like it was before you had your baby, but 90 plus percent of patients are happy they did it.'

Even if you want more kids, you can still laser done in between pregnancies! You might get a few stretch marks with you second but there's no doubt that this will strengthen the skin so that they aren't as bad.

The best part is that both Dr. Gross and Dr. Katz tell us that patients may only experience a bit of redness for about a week but you can put a bra on right after and there's really little downtime! The only thing is, you'll probably have to go in anywhere from 3 to 8 times.
